The British Franchise Association (BFA) is the voice of ethical franchising in the UK; the Trade Association for those businesses that pass accreditation and educator to the many potential individuals and businesses that are considering or presently franchising. Total Clean’s BFA membership demonstrates that there is a real business in evidence with a sound franchise agreement and that we, as the Franchisor are committed to developing its business in accordance with BFA standards. Despite significant growth, The BFA’s role remains to ensure that the franchising industry retains its ethical image, commitment to best practice and robustness – even in the toughest of economic climates. British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc)

The BICSc is the largest independent, professional and educational body within the cleaning industry with over 5,000 individual and corporate members in the UK and Internationally. Its purpose is guided by the following mission: to raise the standards of education and to build awareness of the cleaning industry through professional standards and accredited training. Protecting the Operative Providing a Clean and Safe Environment Preserving Assets Promoting Sustainability Producing Best Practice Formed in 1961, the Institute was initially set up to raise the profile of the cleaning industry as a profession and then went on to establish educational standards within the industry. Over the years the services and training provided by the Institute have evolved to reflect changes within the industry and Total Clean are always among the first to adopt new standards and methodologies as they benefit our clients and therefore our business as a whole.

ISO 9001 provides a set of standardised requirements for a Quality Management System (QMS). With over 1m organisations currently certified to the standard globally, it is the leader in not only Quality Management Systems, but within all management systems. The overall objective of the standard is to help companies meet statutory and regulatory requirements relating to the service while achieving excellence within their customer service and delivery.

The ISO 14001 Environment Management System (EMS) standard is an internationally recognised environmental management standard which was first published in 1996. It is a systematic framework to manage the immediate and long term environmental impacts of an organisation’s products, services and processes.
UKAS 45001 is an ISO standard for management systems of occupational health and safety (OHS), published in March 2018. The goal of ISO 45001 is the reduction of occupational injuries and diseases, including promoting and protecting physical and mental health. This helps businesses to: Identify and control health and safety risks Reduce the potential for accidents Aid legal compliance Improve overall performance
Franchise Finance is the franchise industry’s leading independent finance sourcing professionals. The team has direct relationships with both finance and leasing providers to the franchise industry. The team provides an independent, professional and seamless link between the franchisor, prospective franchise partner and finance providers.
Assessing suppliers’ health and safety competence can be a lengthy and time-consuming process. Suppliers can sometimes meet one buyer’s Health and Safety standards but not another. Being CHAS approved reduces duplication, as suppliers’ compliance is accepted by all CHAS buyers. Total Clean has been assessed and approved by CHAS, thus demonstrating that we comply with the core criteria of health and safety law, and are approved to work for all CHAS buyers.
Organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove they are sound health and safety policies in place. Alcumus SafeContractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme which recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management amongst contractors. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK. As part of our commitment to delivering a safe and healthy environment for all our employees and all individuals affected by our activities, we are delighted to have achieved the SafeContractor accreditation. This will reassure all our clients of our recognition of our responsibilities in this area.
Total Clean has completed a Cleaning Partnership Programme with Infection Prevention Solutions, ensuring we fully understand the complexities of cleaning in different healthcare settings. Our cleaning operatives are trained by qualified Infection Control Nurses, providing them with the knowledge necessary to minimise the spread of infection through a healthcare environment. All our cleaning services and healthcare cleaning staff are monitored by Infection Control Cleaning Management on behalf of Infection Prevention Solutions, who undertake Environmental Cleanliness Audits and ATP swab testing at regular intervals.

Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWIF) is an organisation dedicated to supporting women who are looking for a route into the franchising industry. Their remit is three-fold: to encourage women to buy a franchise; to encourage business women to franchise their existing operations; and to help franchisors attract women to their network. Total Clean is pleased to be a member of EWIF.

Total Clean subscribes to CO2 Balance as a voluntary extension to its environmental policies. CO2 Balance offers carbon footprint calculation, carbon management and reduction services and an ethical way to offset greenhouse gas emissions through Gold Standard energy efficiency projects.

Cyber Essentials is an effective, Government backed scheme that helps to protect organisations, whatever their size, against a whole range of the most common cyber attacks. This helps businesses to:
